Burnfoot Of Cluden
Burnfoot of Cluden is our place, near Dumfries. It's a big house that looks out over the River Cairn. It's detached, so you've got your own space. The garden goes down to the river.
It sleeps sixteen, so it's for big groups. There are eight bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen has an Aga, which is great for warming the room and cooking big meals. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. The stairs are normal.
You're in the countryside, but Dumfries is less than ten minutes away by car. There's a shop and a pub about a mile up the road. The pub does food. For a big supermarket, you'd drive into Dumfries.
The river path, Cluden Water, starts right from the garden. You can walk to the Twelve Apostles stone circle from here. For a day out, Drumlanrig Castle is about twenty minutes drive. Caerlaverock Castle and the Wetlands Centre is about half an hour. If you have children, Mabie Farm Park is nearby, and the ice skating at Dumfries Ice Bowl is good for wet days.
What's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, a BBQ, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for several cars.
