Terraughtie Cottage East

Terraughtie Cottage East is near Cargenbridge, just outside Dumfries. It's one of a pair, semi-detached. We did it up a few years ago, so it's clean and modern inside. It's got three bedrooms and sleeps six. There are two bathrooms, both redone.

The garden is big and fenced, which is good if you've got kids or dogs. We take up to two pets.

Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. It works well. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Everything like bedding and towels is included. Parking is right outside.

There's a farm shop with a cafe about a five-minute walk away, Kilnford. They do meals and have a small play area. The nearest proper shop is about a quarter of a mile. A pub is two and a half miles.

You can walk or cycle into Dumfries from here. It's not far. If you like fishing, Auldernauk Fishery is close by.

The area is good for getting out. The coast and beaches are about half an hour's drive. For walking, the Galloway Forest Park is brilliant, and it's a designated Dark Sky Park if you're into stargazing. The 7stanes mountain bike trails are within easy reach too.
