Woodedge Beeswing

Woodedge is a lodge near the village of Beeswing, about five miles from Dumfries. It's detached and sits right on the edge of Mabie Forest. You can see trees from pretty much every window.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything's on one floor, so there are no stairs to worry about. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's clean and modern inside.

The place is set up for being outdoors. You're basically on the doorstep for Mabie Forest. Mountain bikers know it for the 7Stanes trails, which start from here. If you're walking, there are miles of paths right outside.

There's a hot tub on the deck. It's undercover. It's there if you want it, especially after a day out walking or cycling.

Beeswing itself is tiny. There's a good farm shop about a mile away called Loch Arthur. They do lunch and sell their own cheese. For a proper shop or a pub meal, you need to drive. Dumfries is about fifteen minutes one way, Castle Douglas about twenty the other. Castle Douglas has a lot of good food shops.

This is a dark sky area. On a clear night, you can see a lot of stars. The Galloway Forest Park is a short drive for bigger hills and lochs.

For facilities: it's all electric, there's a dishwasher and washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
