Cardoness House
Cardoness House is on Cardoness Street in Dumfries. It's a big Victorian house, built from sandstone. It's been updated inside but it still has the high ceilings and big rooms you'd expect.
It sleeps up to six people in four bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The furniture is modern but it fits the space because the rooms are so large. The stairs are fine, they're just normal house stairs.
You're less than a mile from the town centre. There are shops and places to eat there. The Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura is worth a visit. Robert Burns lived his last years here, so there's a mausoleum and other sites related to him.
Just outside town is the Caerlaverock Wetland Centre. It's a big wildlife reserve. Good for a day out if you like that sort of thing.
The wider Dumfries and Galloway area has a lot of coast and countryside. You can drive to beaches, go walking, or there's mountain biking. The Galloway Forest Park is about a 45 minute drive, if you want proper hills and forests.
For facilities, you've got a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. There's on-site parking and a bit of a garden out the back. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
