Auchen Ladder
Auchen Ladder is a new bungalow on our working farm, near Amisfield. It's detached and you're not overlooked. The views are over fields towards Dumfries, and you can see the Solway Firth on a clear day.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everything is on one level, so it's good for accessibility. There's a ramp to the front door and the doors are wide. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and finished to a high standard.
The main living area is open plan. French doors lead out to a private, enclosed patio. There's a hot tub out there. You get your own electric vehicle charging point on the driveway.
It's a quiet spot. The nearest shop, pub, and restaurant are about four and a half miles away in Dunscore. Dumfries is about the same distance the other way. It's got all the supermarkets and some historical sites, like Burns House.
The coast is about half an hour's drive. The villages there, like Southerness and Kippford, are nice for a wander. There's good walking and cycling right from the doorstep, and the Threave Gardens are about a 20-minute drive. For a bigger day out, Drumlanrig Castle or the wetlands at WWT Caerlaverock are within 30 minutes.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, Wi-Fi, washing machine, dishwasher. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking for two cars. No pets, I'm afraid.
