Laird House is a cottage on our farm. It was the old dairy. It's all on one level, so it's fairly easy to get around.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. One has a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
The main room is open plan. There's a wood burning stove. Off that is a conservatory with a table football game and chairs to look out at the view. The view is over the fields and the valley, Annandale. You're up on the hill a bit.
You're on a working beef farm. You're welcome to come and see the animals. You can help feed the calves if you like, or the ducks and collect the eggs. Sometimes it's muddy, so boots are a good idea.
The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside. There's a barbecue, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair. There's also an electric vehicle charger.
The location is quiet and rural. Lochmaben village is close. It has a couple of shops and pubs. Dumfries is about twenty minutes by car if you need bigger shops. Lockerbie is ten minutes away and has a train station on the main west coast line.
You're well placed for the coast. Rockcliffe and Kippford are pretty, about half an hour's drive. There's good walking and cycling locally. The National Trust for Scotland has several properties and gardens in the area, like Threave Garden. For mountain biking, the 7stanes trails at Glentrool or Ae Forest are within a 30 minute drive.
