West Lanegate Farmhouse
West Lanegate Farmhouse is near Amisfield, in Dumfriesshire. It's a detached farmhouse we finished renovating in 2022. It's on a quiet lane.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms, with one bathroom. It's a 4 Star. There's a wood burner in the living room and another in the dining room. The garden is large and enclosed, with farmland around it. There's a hot tub out there.
The stairs are normal. It's all on the ground floor except two of the bedrooms and the bathroom, which are upstairs.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Parking is on site. No pets, sorry.
You're a few miles from Dumfries. It's the main town, so you'll find shops, supermarkets, and places to eat there. Robert Burns' last home, Burns House, is there too.
There's good walking from the door. The Solway Coast is close for cliff walks. For cyclists, some of the 7Stanes routes are within a half hour drive. Caerlaverock Castle is about twenty minutes away by car. Drumlanrig Castle is a bit further, maybe thirty five minutes. The coastal villages like Kippford are nice for a drive.
The nearest pub or restaurant is about three and a half miles away. The coast at Sandyhills is about seventeen miles.
