West Lanegate Farmhouse
West Lanegate Farmhouse is near Amisfield, about four miles outside Dumfries. It's a detached farmhouse we renovated in 2022. It's on a quiet lane, surrounded by fields.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The living room and dining room each have a wood burner. The garden is large and enclosed. There's a private hot tub.
Dumfries is four miles away. That's where you'll find the main shops, supermarkets, and places to eat. Robert Burns' last home is there, if you're interested.
For walking, there are good riverside paths in Dumfries and cliff walks along the Solway coast. The 7Stanes mountain bike trails are nearby. There's an electric vehicle charger at the house.
A few places within about half an hour: Caerlaverock Castle is a good ruin to wander around. Drumlanrig Castle has extensive grounds. The coastal villages like Kippford are pleasant for a drive. The nearest beach is at Sandyhills, about seventeen miles away.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There's a games room in an outbuilding. No pets, sorry.
