The Moorings

The Moorings is a town house in Lochmaben. It's big and tall, on a wide street with trees. It sleeps eight people, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one has a shower.

The rooms are a good size. Downstairs there's a kitchen, a living room, a separate dining room, and a utility room with a washing machine. Upstairs, the bedrooms are just bedrooms. They're comfortable.

The back garden is enclosed and private. It gets the sun in the afternoon. You can park on the drive.

The house has a 4 Star rating. It's well equipped. There's WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but you should know the bedrooms are all upstairs.

Lochmaben is a small town. It's quiet. There's a bakery, a couple of shops, a takeaway, and some pubs all within a short walk. For a bigger supermarket, you drive to Lockerbie, which is about four miles.

The town is built around three lochs: Kirk Loch, Castle Loch, and Mill Loch. You can walk right around them from the house. People fish and sail on them.

You're well placed here for getting about. It's about ten minutes to the M74 motorway. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both around an hour and fifteen minutes by car. You can get the train from Lockerbie if you'd rather not drive.

Within a half hour drive, you've got a lot. Dumfries is about twenty minutes. There's the coast at the Solway Firth, with sandy beaches like Rockcliffe. For walking and history, there's Threave Garden and Lincluden Collegiate Church. The mountain biking at Mabie Forest is very good.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is fully enclosed so they should be fine.
