Perch Hall Cottage

Perch Hall Cottage is in Johnstonebridge, just off the A74(M). It's a sandstone bungalow surrounded by its own garden. The garden wraps around the house, so there's plenty of space.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The space is open plan so the kitchen, dining area, and living room with the wood burner are all together. It works well for a group.

You're right next to the motorway, which is good for getting about. Some traffic noise comes with that, but it's mostly quiet at night. The trade-off is you can be on the coast or up in the hills very quickly.

You can bring one dog. There's parking on the drive.

For facilities, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included.

There's a shop and a cafe that does food all day, about half a mile up the road. For a bigger shop, Lockerbie is five miles away. They've also got an ice rink in the winter.

Moffat is close by. It's a nice town for a wander. The countryside around here is good for walking. The coast is about half an hour's drive. The 7stanes mountain bike trails are a big draw if that's your thing. Four of the centres are within easy reach.

If you're planning days out, the National Trust for Scotland in Dumfries & Galloway pages are useful.
