Gin Case
Gin Case is on our farm near Nethermill, outside Moffat. It's a two-storey cottage attached to the big farmhouse. We did it up a few years ago. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs.
The main bit is upstairs. You walk in and the kitchen, dining table and sitting area are all in one room. The best thing is the patio doors. They open onto a balcony that looks straight out over our fields and the hills. The view is good. You can sit out there.
It's quiet here. At night, with no street lights, you can see a lot of stars.
If you're bringing bikes, there's a place to store them. Ae Forest is basically next door. It's one of the 7Stanes centres, so the mountain biking trails are serious. You can walk there too, along the river or up into the hills.
Dumfries is about nine miles away for shops and things. Robert Burns' house is there if you're interested. The coast is about half an hour's drive. You've got little places like Kippford, or the beach at Sandyhills.
For historic sites, Caerlaverock Castle and Drumlanrig Castle are both within a thirty minute drive.
Inside, it's all there: washing machine, TV, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
