Marwhin Cottage Kirkpatrick Durham

Marwhin Cottage is on the Crofts Estate near Kirkpatrick Durham. It's a detached stone cottage. You've got your own garden, which has a stream and a small pond running through it.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well kept. The stove in the living room is wood burning. It works well.

You're on a big private estate, so it's very quiet. There are walks straight from the door into the hills or through the woods. The view from the front looks out over the fields towards the Solway Firth. On a clear day, you can see the hills in Cumbria.

The nearest shop and pub are about four miles away in the village. They're fine for basics. For a bigger shop, Castle Douglas is a good market town, about a 20 minute drive. Dumfries is about 25 minutes away. It has supermarkets, a theatre, and a few museums.

The coast is about half an hour's drive. There are some good beaches along the Solway. Threave Gardens is about 20 minutes away if you like that sort of thing. The Galloway Forest Park is about 40 minutes for more serious walking or stargazing.

Facilities: there's parking right outside. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them.
