Gardener's Cottage Corsock

Gardener's Cottage is on the Crofts Estate near Corsock. It's a detached cottage. The estate is big, about 3000 acres, so it's very quiet. You get views towards the Solway Firth and the Cumbrian hills.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.

There's an enclosed garden that you share with Stable Cottage next door. It's got a bridge over a burn with a small waterfall. It's nice to sit out there.

You're right on the edge of the Galloway Hills. There are woodland walks and trails straight from the doorstep. If you drive, the Galloway Forest Park isn't far. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are good on a clear night.

The nearest shop and pub are in Corsock, about four miles away. Castle Douglas is a bit further. It's a market town with good butchers and food shops. Dumfries is about twelve miles for bigger supermarkets, museums and that.

For days out, Threave Gardens is about eight miles away, and there are beaches along the Solway coast. The Galloway Kite Trail is worth doing if you like wildlife.

Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a washing machine, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring one dog.
