Holly-Garth is on the edge of Helmsley. It's a detached house, brick built, not an old cottage. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. One bathroom is on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The stairs are fine, normal house stairs.
The kitchen is big enough for a group to be in. There are two sitting rooms, which is handy if people want to do different things. One has a wood burner, the other a gas fire that looks like a wood burner. They both have Sky TV.
Outside, there's a patio with a table and a barbecue. There's also a small outbuilding with a pool table in it. The garden is enclosed.
Helmsley is a five minute walk. There's a good supermarket, a few pubs that do food, and some nice shops. The castle is right there. The Helmsley Walled Garden is worth a visit if you like gardens.
You're on the doorstep of the North York Moors. Good walking straight from the door, or a short drive gets you deeper in. For the coast, Whitby is about 40 minutes' drive. Scarborough is a bit further. York is under an hour if you want a city day.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, all bedding and towels, parking for a couple of cars. You can bring up to two dogs.
