Heather Cottage is in Low Etherley, County Durham. It's a two bedroom place that sleeps four. It's been renovated recently, so everything is clean and works.
There's one bathroom upstairs with a walk in shower. No bath. Both bedrooms are upstairs too. One has a king size bed, the other a double.
Downstairs is an open plan kitchen and living area. The kitchen has a breakfast bar. There's a TV and a fireplace. The sofa is comfy. The back garden is enclosed and south facing, so it gets the sun.
It's a 4 Star rating. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. You can bring up to two dogs.
The village is quiet. There's a local pub a short walk away. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Bishop Auckland, which is about ten minutes.
Right on the doorstep, about 50 metres away, is the Etherley Incline Walk. It's part of the old Stockton and Darlington railway line. Good for a dog walk or a stroll. It links into bigger trails like the Northern Saints Trail.
Bishop Auckland has Auckland Castle and the Faith Museum. The National Railway Museum's Locomotion site in Shildon is about a fifteen minute drive. For Roman history, Binchester Roman Fort is nearby. For a day out, Hamsterley Forest is good for walking or cycling, and Raby Castle is about a twenty minute drive.
The wider area is the North Pennines. It's an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Good for hiking. The Durham Dales and Weardale are within half an hour.
