Beckwick

Beckwick is a bungalow on the edge of Bishop Auckland. It's detached and sits behind a gate in its own private grounds. The garden is big and looks out over a small ornamental lake.

It sleeps nine people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, one of which is a wet room with a walk-in shower and a separate bath. The master and a second bedroom have en-suites. One bedroom has a double bed with a single bunk above it, so it sleeps three.

Inside, it's spacious. There's a large main lounge, a separate garden room with a TV and a little bar area, and a games room with an air hockey table. The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine in the utility room.

Outside, there's a six-seater hot tub in the garden.

It's a quiet residential area, but you're only about two miles from Bishop Auckland town centre. There's a local pub within walking distance. The big draw in town is Auckland Castle and its gardens. The Kynren outdoor show runs in the summer, but you need to book tickets for that separately.

Within a half hour drive, you've got a few good options. Locomotion, the National Railway Museum in Shildon, is about ten minutes away. Hamsterley Forest is great for walking or cycling. You can drive into Weardale to places like Stanhope, or see High Force waterfall. Barnard Castle, the Bowes Museum, and Raby Castle are all within reach. Durham city is about a twenty-five minute drive.

In terms of what's here: the price includes bedding, towels, and electricity. There's on-site parking, a highchair, and bike storage. We accept up to two dogs. The property has a 4 Star rating.
