Freville Cottage
Freville Cottage is in Shildon, County Durham. It's a terraced house, so you've got neighbours either side. We've done it up inside, but it's still just a normal house really. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a local pub about a quarter of a mile away. The shop is a bit further, maybe half a mile.
The big thing here is the railway museum. It's the Locomotion Museum, part of the National Railway Museum. It's right in Shildon. If you're into trains, it's the main event.
Bishop Auckland is close, about ten minutes' drive. The market's there, and Auckland Castle is worth a look. There's good walking from there along the river and the old railway path.
Within half an hour you can get to a few places. Barnard Castle has the Bowes Museum, which is a bit different. Durham city is about twenty-five minutes. The cathedral and castle are the obvious things, but the city centre is nice just to wander. Beamish Museum is great, especially with kids. That's about twenty minutes north.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine. The WiFi works. All the bedding and towels are included. The electricity is covered. There's on-street parking outside.
