Stonebank Cottage Newfield

Stonebank Cottage is in Newfield, a village about eight miles from Durham. It’s a three-bedroom cottage that sleeps six.

It’s got one bathroom upstairs. There’s a wood burner in the dining room. The living room is spacious. All the bedrooms have TVs.

You get the yard at the back. Pets are allowed, up to two. Across the back lane there’s a large lawned garden with seating and a converted garage. The garage has a hot tub, some chairs, and a small bar area.

The cottage is a 4 Star property, which means it’s well equipped and comfortable.

There’s a children's play park right opposite. A pub is within walking distance.

Bishop Auckland is three and a half miles away. It has shops and Auckland Castle. From July to September they run the Kynren outdoor show about British history, you need to book that in advance.

Durham is the main city nearby. You can see the castle and cathedral, or walk along the river. They have various festivals through the year, like Lumiere.

For days out, you’ve got Beamish Museum, and Raby Castle is about a twenty minute drive. The North Pennines area and High Force waterfall are within half an hour. The Durham coast and beaches are about forty minutes away.

It’s close to the A1 and A68, so you can get to the Yorkshire Dales or Newcastle in about an hour.
