Old Hall Cottage No 1

Old Hall Cottage No 1 is in Byers Green, which is a small village outside Bishop Auckland. It’s a stone built cottage, attached to The Old Hall. It’s detached from any neighbours though. You get your own space.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It’s a 4 Star property, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. There’s another cottage on the same site, but you’ve got a private garden and patio.

The hot tub is up on the upper patio. It’s just for you. The garden is on two levels, looks out over fields. The lane is quiet, no through traffic. You get a lot of birds around.

There’s a pub and restaurant about a quarter of a mile away. The shop is in the next village, a couple of miles. You can walk straight out from the cottage into the countryside.

You’re about 15 minutes from Durham city centre. The cathedral is worth seeing. Bishop Auckland is the same distance, with Auckland Castle. The Beamish Museum is a short drive, maybe 20 minutes.

You’re right on the edge of the Durham Dales. For a day out, Raby Castle is close. Bowes Museum is in Barnard Castle, about 40 minutes. If you want to go further, the Northumberland coast, Hadrian's Wall and the North Pennines are all within an hour or so.

In the cottage itself, there’s a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
