The Hen House
The Hen House is in Brandon. It's a detached, one-bedroom cottage, all on the ground floor. Sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's behind our house, so you'll see us coming and going. You've got your own garden, which is enclosed. There's bike storage if you need it.
Durham city centre is about two miles away. You can walk it if you don't mind a bit of a hill. It's easier to drive and park. The cathedral and castle are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There's a leisure centre with a pool at Freemans Quay, and the Gala Theatre is there too.
There's a shop and a pub about a mile away. For more choice, you're into Durham in a few minutes.
If you're driving out, you can get to Bishop Auckland in about 15 minutes. The Kynren show is on there in the summer. Barnard Castle is about half an hour. The Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors are both within an hour or so.
Inside, it's compact. Everything you need is there: a double bed with an en-suite shower room, a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
It can be booked together with The Stables next door if you're coming with more people.
