Dairy Cottage is in Old Durham. It's a converted dairy, our old farm building. It’s in our four-acre grounds, but you get your own space. We're in the main house nearby if you need anything.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both en-suite, so two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been renovated. The living room ceiling is high, with beams and a little balcony. The kitchen has what you need, including a dishwasher.
The main thing is the location. You're down a country lane, fields all around, but you can walk into Durham city centre in about twenty minutes. The path follows the river. It's a nice walk.
Durham is good for cafés, restaurants, the shops. The Cathedral and Castle are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and worth seeing. There's a train station. You can get to Newcastle in ten minutes, or York in about forty-five.
There's a local pub serving food half a mile away. They do a good Sunday lunch. For day trips, the North Pennines are about half an hour's drive for walking. The coast, places like Seaham, is about forty minutes.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, on-site parking. The entrance and one bedroom are wheelchair accessible. We can provide a cot. There's a patio area with a table. No pets, sorry.
