Dairy Cottage is in Old Durham. It's a converted dairy barn on a country lane, about a mile from the city centre. We live next door in the main house. You'll have your own garden, and you're welcome to walk around our four acre grounds.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and each has its own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been renovated well. The main living room has a high ceiling with old beams and a sort of balcony up above it.
The kitchen has everything you'd need, including a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. Bedding is included and we can provide a cot. There's parking right outside. The main entrance is level, so it's accessible for wheelchairs.
You can walk into Durham along the river path. It takes about twenty minutes. Once you're there, you've got the cathedral and the castle, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Plenty of cafes and restaurants too.
The local pub is half a mile away, it serves food. There's a shop about the same distance.
You can get a train to Newcastle from Durham station, it takes about ten minutes. York is about forty-five minutes away by train if you fancy a day out. For wider planning, Visit Durham and English Heritage are useful.
No pets, I'm afraid.
