The Coach House At Mount Pleasant

The Coach House is attached to our house at Mount Pleasant. It's a separate building, but you'll see us coming and going sometimes. It's in Houghton Bank, near Heighington village. You can see it on the map.

It sleeps two, maybe three if one is a child. The single bed is in a small dressing room off the main bedroom. The bedroom is upstairs with a sloped ceiling and a Velux window. The bathroom is nice. It has a big roll-top bath and a separate power shower.

Downstairs is a big open room with the sofa, dining table and kitchen all together. The kitchen has a breakfast bar. Everything in there is fairly new. It's a 4 Star place, so it's kept to a good standard.

You've got your own patio and garden area out the front. Parking is right there too.

The facilities are all listed. Christmas themed means we decorate it a bit if you're coming over the Christmas week. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi is there.

There's a shop and a pub about a mile away in Heighington. The pub does food. You're about five minutes from joining the A1, so getting around is easy.

Durham is twenty minutes by car. It's a good day out. The cathedral and castle are the main things, and there are lots of shops and places to eat. They have festivals during the year too.

For walks, Hamsterley Forest is about a twenty-five minute drive. It's a big woodland with trails and picnic spots. Low Barns Nature Reserve is closer, maybe fifteen minutes. That's good for birdwatching.

Further out, you can get to the North East coast, the North York Moors, or even the Northumberland coast in under an hour and a half if you don't mind driving. Barnard Castle is about forty minutes.
