The Barn is part of our farm, Toft Hill Hall. We raise Aberdeen Angus cattle here. The views from the place are really good, across the fields.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable, not just fancy.
Inside, it’s open plan with high ceilings and a big window. The wood burner works well. There's a north-facing balcony off the living area for sitting out. You also get a separate, enclosed garden that's just yours.
The farm is down a quiet lane. It's a five-minute drive to a shop, a pub, and a restaurant. Bishop Auckland is about five miles away if you need more.
For things to do, Hamsterley Forest is very close, about four miles. It's great for walking and cycling. The Forestry England page has maps and trail details.
Within a half-hour drive you've got Barnard Castle, the Bowes Museum, and Raby Castle. Durham city and its cathedral are about 30 minutes away, it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Railway Museum in Shildon is about 15 minutes by car.
What's here: parking right outside, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. The place is detached. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
