The Barn At Toft Hill Hall
The Barn is on our farm. We raise Aberdeen Angus cattle. You'll see them in the fields. It's detached, so just you.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. The main living space is big and open, with high ceilings. There's a large window that looks out over the fields. It's a north-facing view, so the light is nice but it’s not a sun-trap. There's a wood burner for chilly evenings.
Outside, there's a north-facing balcony off the living area – good for the view but not for sunbathing. There’s also a separate, enclosed garden at ground level that gets more sun.
You're down a quiet lane here. The local pub and a shop are about a mile away. For a bigger shop, Bishop Auckland is five miles.
There's good walking and cycling right from the door. Hamsterley Forest is four miles away for trails. Barnard Castle, Raby Castle, and the Bowes Museum are all within half an hour's drive. Durham is about 25 minutes – the cathedral and castle are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In terms of facilities: it's a 5 Star property, so it's well-equipped. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
