Checker Leazes Farm
Checker Leazes Farm is in Evenwood, County Durham. It's a converted barn on a working farm. You can see the fields from the windows.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom has a roll-top bath, which people seem to like. The other has a shower as well as a bath. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is the space. There's a big kitchen and living room for everyone to be together. And across the yard there's a separate building with a bar and a full-size snooker table. It's got its own wood burner and TV too. That's all yours to use.
Outside, there's a good-sized garden with a hot tub and a gas barbecue.
You're allowed two dogs. There's on-site parking and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
The village has a shop and a couple of pubs. Bishop Auckland is about ten minutes by car. Barnard Castle is about twenty minutes. Durham City is roughly half an hour away.
If you like walking, you're close to the Teesdale Way and the North Pennines. Hamsterley Forest is great for bikes or a family walk. For a proper day out, Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland is worth seeing, and The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is impressive.
