Bailey Cottage

Bailey Cottage is in Staindrop, which is a small village in County Durham. It's a stone cottage and it's about three hundred years old. It's Grade II listed, which means there are lots of original features inside. The ceilings are low and there are a lot of beams.

It's for two people. One bedroom with a super king size bed, and one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is small but it has what you need.

There's no private garden, but there are benches on the village green just down the road. You can walk along Langley Beck. Parking is on the street outside, there's no restriction.

You're right next door to Raby Castle. You can see the wall and the park from the cottage. The village has a shop and a couple of pubs.

Barnard Castle is about four miles away. It's a market town with a ruined castle and some good independent shops. Bishop Auckland is ten miles, where you've got The Auckland Project if you're interested in history and art.

For walking, you can get onto the Teesdale Way. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is on the doorstep. The Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District are both within an hour's drive if you want a longer day out.

What's here: a wood burning stove, TV, WiFi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. Electricity is part of the price. You can bring one dog.
