Tom's Cottage

This is Tom's Cottage. It's in Caldwell, a small, quiet village in North Yorkshire. It's a terraced bungalow, and we live next door. It sleeps two, in one bedroom. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxury.

The cottage is all on the ground floor, which is handy. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. We include bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, TV, and Wi-Fi. You have your own patio garden area with a table and chairs. We also have bicycle storage if you bring bikes.

You're welcome to bring up to two dogs. The stairs point is irrelevant here, as it's a bungalow.

The village pub is about three minutes' walk away. They do good food. The nearest shop is a mile away in the next village.

You can walk straight from the door. There are public footpaths through the fields and lanes around here. For bigger walks, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is about a 20-minute drive. Richmond is ten miles away. It's a nice old market town on the river, good for a wander and a cafe. Barnard Castle is about 15 minutes by car, and the Bowes Museum is there.

Raby Castle with its deer park is near Staindrop, which is six miles away. In the other direction, you can get to Darlington or Northallerton in under half an hour if you need anything.
