Tom's Cottage is in Caldwell, a village in North Yorkshire. It's a terraced bungalow, attached to our place. It's quiet here.
It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. It's all on the ground floor, so no stairs to worry about. The doorways are standard size. We allow up to two dogs.
The cottage has its own small patio garden. There's storage for bikes if you bring them. Inside, there's a woodburning stove which makes it cosy, a TV, WiFi, and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
The local pub is about 250 yards away. They do good food. The nearest shop is a mile away in Stainton.
There are footpaths straight from the village into the countryside. For a proper walk, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is about a 20 minute drive. Richmond is ten miles away. It's a nice Georgian town on the river, good for pottering about, and they have a market. Raby Castle with the deer is about six miles away near Staindrop.
Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum are within half an hour. So are places like Northallerton, Leyburn, and Darlington. Durham city is about a 40 minute drive if you fancy a day out there to see the cathedral.
