The Richmond
The Richmond is in West Layton. It's next to the owner's house, set in seven acres of grounds. The cottage is for two people.
It's a 5 Star place, so everything is high-spec. Big smart TVs, underfloor heating, a coffee machine. Upstairs is the bedroom with a super kingsize four-poster bed. There's a separate dressing room and an en-suite bathroom with a large free-standing bath. The stairs up are open and a bit steep, so mind your step.
Outside is an enclosed terrace patio. It has a dining area, a firepit, and a hot tub for two. The view looks out over fields. There are chickens and ducks around the grounds.
You're about seven miles from both Richmond and Barnard Castle. Barnard Castle has the Bowes Museum and a weekly market. Richmond is a Georgian market town. The A66 and A1 are close by, so driving around is straightforward.
There's a local pub a couple of miles away that does good food. A respected farm shop is nearby too.
For bigger days out, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is about 30 minutes’ drive. You can get to places like Harrogate, Ripon, or York within an hour.
Facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are provided. The property can be booked with the one next door, The Granary, for a group of four.
