2 The Reading Room Cottages

2 The Reading Room Cottages is a two-bedroom cottage on the edge of Barningham village green. It sleeps three. There's a decent pub about twenty-five yards away, the Milbank Arms. They do food.

The place is part of the old Barningham estate. It's a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high standard. It's comfortable. The furniture is a mix of old and new. It's not huge but it's well-equipped. You've got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

It's very quiet here. The village is a conservation area, so it's kept nice. There's a shop about a five-minute walk away for basics.

You're well placed for getting out. Barnard Castle is about a ten-minute drive. It's a proper market town with a supermarket, shops, and the Bowes Museum. Richmond is maybe twenty minutes the other way. Good for a wander around the castle and the square.

For a day out, High Force waterfall is roughly half an hour away. The North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are both within easy reach for walking. If you're into history, there are some ancient stones and burial mounds up on Barningham Moor behind the village.

You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
