Archers Barn is in Smallways, near Greta Bridge. It's in North Yorkshire, about five miles from Barnard Castle and ten from Richmond.
It's a new build, finished in 2022. Sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is a shower room downstairs. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is modern and in good working order.
The main living space is open plan. Kitchen, dining area, and a big L-shaped sofa. Large arched windows and patio doors make it light. The doors open onto an enclosed patio with garden furniture and a view of the fields.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and walk-in wardrobes. The second bedroom has a double. The third bedroom is up another flight of stairs in the loft, with twin beds and vaulted ceilings. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door. The local pub is about a ten minute walk. Barnard Castle is a nice market town with a ruined castle, the Bowes Museum, and some good independent shops. Richmond is a bit bigger, with cobbled streets, galleries, and more places to eat.
For longer drives, the Yorkshire Dales are about half an hour west. The North York Moors are to the east, also around thirty minutes. Durham City and the coast at Northumberland are both within an hour's drive.
Facilities: everything you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking on site. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
