Grange Cottage is in Ovington, County Durham. It's a detached single-storey cottage on a ten-acre estate. It's all on the ground floor, wide doorways, no steps. The rating is 4 Star. It's clean and well looked after.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower room. The other has two singles that can be joined to make a super kingsize if you ask beforehand. That one has a TV in it. Both rooms are a good size.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining area, and living space. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a coffee machine. The living area has sofas and an electric wood burner effect stove. Patio doors open onto a south-facing enclosed patio. There's a separate enclosed courtyard garden round the side with furniture and a BBQ.
You can park two cars on the private driveway. We can usually sort more space if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and a cot and highchair if required.
We accept up to two well-behaved dogs. The owners live on the estate and are happy to have them. There's stabling and equestrian facilities here too, if you need that, but you have to arrange it with them directly.
The Ovington hamlet and its pub are about a fifteen minute walk. They do food and local ale. Barnard Castle is a short drive. It's a market town with shops, cafes, and the Bowes Museum. Richmond is about twenty minutes away. It's an historic market town with a castle and cobbled streets.
For walking, you're close to the North Pennines AONB and not far from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. York is under an hour's drive if you want a day in the city.
