Binchester Crag Farm is near the village of Newfield, in County Durham. It's a stone farmhouse, detached and fairly large. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There's one main bathroom and one en-suite shower room upstairs, plus a toilet downstairs.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which reflects the standard. It's been renovated to a high spec. There are two living rooms, both with wood burners. The kitchen is open-plan with a big island and a dining table for eight.
The garden is enclosed and quite big. At the back there's a raised patio on two levels, with a hot tub. The garden goes down to a lawn, and then you have a bit of river frontage on the Wear. It's not deep there, more of a shallow stretch.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's on-site parking and an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them.
The local area is quiet and rural. There's a lot of history nearby. Binchester Roman Fort is just down the road. The Kynren outdoor show happens there in the summer. Auckland Castle and the Spanish Gallery are in Bishop Auckland, about a ten minute drive. For walks, Low Barns Nature Reserve is good for birdwatching.
For a proper day out, Durham city is about twenty minutes away by car. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts not far from here, so there's good walking. For planning, the North Pennines AONB site is useful, and for the local history, Visit County Durham has information.
That's about it. Questions welcome.
