Goodwin House is in Shepton Beauchamp, just outside Ilminster. It's a three-bedroom cottage that sleeps six. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's been done up nicely.
You can park right outside. The kitchen has those big folding doors that open onto the patio and garden. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog. We accept one pet.
Inside, the main thing is the wood burner in the living room. It's in an old inglenook fireplace. It works well and makes the place very cosy. The stairs are a typical cottage style, so they turn a corner and are a bit steeper than modern ones.
The village has a pub. Ilminster is a couple of miles away for shops. Barrington Court, which is National Trust, is very close. You can walk there across the fields if you want. National Trust Barrington Court.
Within about half an hour you can get to a lot. The coast at Lyme Regis is about 25 miles. Glastonbury Tor is about half an hour's drive. For walks, the Blackdown Hills are right there. Blackdown Hills.
It has all the things you'd expect: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. The place is decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.
