Y Beudy

Y Beudy is in Blaengeuffordd, which is near Capel Bangor in Ceredigion. It's on a country lane, part of a riding school. The cottage itself is detached, so no one sharing walls.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. The beds can be twins or doubles if you let me know in advance. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's been done up nicely. It was renovated in 2023.

The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining table, and living area all together. There's a stable door from the kitchen out to the garden. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids.

Now, about the trains. The Vale of Rheidol steam railway runs right past the bottom of the garden. You'll hear it chuffing by in the daytime. It's a proper steam train, not a model. The kids love it. You can wave to the passengers.

If you're bringing horses, you can arrange stabling here. Riding lessons and hacks can be organised too. There's also fishing on the property.

For shops and a pint, you'd need to drive to Aberystwyth or one of the villages. It's rural. Aberystwyth is about five miles west. It's a university town on the sea. Has a pier, a promenade, and the cliff railway.

The coast at Cardigan Bay is about a 15 minute drive. Good for beaches and you might spot dolphins. Inland, you've got the Rheidol Valley and the Cambrian Mountains. Direct walking and cycling routes start from the gate.

Devil's Bridge is up the valley. You can drive or take the steam train all the way there from Aberystwyth. It's known for the waterfalls and bridges.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, a BBQ, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The property is on a lane, so there is some passing traffic, including farm vehicles.
