Tyllwyd Farmhouse

Tyllwyd Farmhouse is near Capel Bangor, in Ceredigion. It's a Victorian farmhouse, detached, on a working farm of about 80 acres. You get views down the Rheidol Valley from the garden.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is an en-suite to the main bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen is big, with a range cooker, and it's open to the dining area. There's a wood burner in the living room. The stairs are normal, no problem.

We kept the original flagstone floors in the hall, so they're a bit uneven in places. That's just how they are. There's a games room next to the living room with table football and darts.

The garden is large and enclosed. There's a fire pit and a barbecue. You can park right outside.

Capel Bangor village has a pub, about three quarters of a mile away. It does good food. There's a shop half a mile away.

Aberystwyth is about four miles. That's where you'll find the main shops, the university, and the beach. The Vale of Rheidol steam railway starts there. It goes up to Devil's Bridge, and the station in Capel Bangor is a request stop. You can walk to it. The waterfalls at Devil's Bridge are worth seeing.

For walking, you're close to the Rheidol Valley and not far from the coast path. You can often see red kites flying over the farm. Horse riding is available a mile and a half away. You can get fishing permits locally.

Facilities include all bedding and towels, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a cot and highchair, and WiFi. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
