Robin’s Nest
Robin's Nest is a converted farm building here at Penrhyn Farm. It's in the middle of nowhere, really. Llanfihangel y Creuddyn. It's a one bedroom place but sleeps four, because the sofa upstairs is a double sofa bed.
You come in on the ground floor straight into the bedroom. That's where the en-suite bathroom is too, shower over the bath. Then you go upstairs to the main living area. It's all open plan up there: kitchen, dining space, sitting area. It's got a tall ceiling with skylights so it feels bright even on a grey day. The beams are original. The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. We provide all the bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. We allow up to two dogs.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear the usual farm noises. You can walk around the farm tracks. For a proper day out, Aberystwyth is about six miles away. It's got a long promenade, the usual seaside stuff, and some good places to eat. The Bwlch Nant yr Arian forest is about a 20 minute drive. They do a red kite feeding there every day which is worth seeing. There are loads of walking and bike trails.
You're well placed for the coast or the hills. It's about half an hour to drive up into the Cambrian Mountains or down to beaches like Borth. For planning, the Visit Wales site is useful, and the Forestry England page for Bwlch Nant yr Arian has the latest feeding times and trail maps.
