Tŷ Melindwr is in Old Goginan, Ceredigion. It's part of an old house, the wing that belonged to the mine captain. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.
The place sits high up. Your bit of the garden is about an acre. It's been landscaped, lots of trees and shrubs. There's a bird feeder that's busy all day. The view from there looks south over the Melindwr Valley toward Goginan village. Behind the garden is woodland.
The stairs inside are quite steep. Just so you know.
Down the lane, by the river, there's a little community space with benches and a book swap shed.
You can walk straight from the door. The woods and ridges here have paths all over. About two and a half miles away is Bwlch Nant yr Arian. It's a forest visitor centre. They feed the red kites there every day, dozens of them. You can watch from the lake or from the cafe balcony. The view from the ridge there is something else, you can see right down to Aberystwyth and the sea. They've got mountain bike trails and an all-ability lakeside path. Bwlch Nant yr Arian.
Aberystwyth is eight miles away. It's got everything you need: shops, cafes, restaurants, the promenade, the castle ruins. The university is there. Sunsets over the bay are good.
There's a pub that does food about a mile away, another at two miles. Small shops and garages are within seven miles.
For days out, the Rheidol Valley railway runs from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge. The Hafod estate is nearby for walks. The coast at Borth is about twelve miles. For nature, the RSPB Ynys-hir reserve and the Dyfi Osprey Project are within half an hour. Snowdonia is about twenty miles north.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, bedding is included, and you can park on site. There's bike storage. No pets.
