This is Helygen. It's one of two cottages next to each other, converted from old farm buildings. Ours was the stables and granary. It's in Tal y bont in Ceredigion, right on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains. The views are good, over the farmland. On a clear day, you can see the coast from the hillside.
It sleeps six, in two bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, so three bathrooms in total. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well finished. You can bring one dog.
The stairs inside are original, so they're a typical cottage staircase. Steep and a bit winding. There's a stairgate at the top.
You've got a private, enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. It's west-facing, so you get the sun in the evening. Parking is right outside.
Talybont village is about a mile away. There's a shop and a couple of pubs that do food. Aberystwyth is a short drive. You can walk the promenade there, or take the cliff railway up to the camera obscura.
If you like walking, the Ynyslas sand dunes and nature reserve are about twenty minutes by car. For something closer, the Bwlch Nant Yr Arian forest centre is good. They have a red kite feeding station you can watch. The Visit Wales Ceredigion site has more ideas.
For a day out, you can drive up to Devil's Bridge and the waterfalls. The steam railway from Aberystwyth goes there. The whole area is a UNESCO Biosphere. The Cambrian Mountains site has details on that and walking trails.
Inside, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
