Ystwyth House is in Borth, about halfway between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. It's a modern, detached house, sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating which means it's high spec, nice finish.
The main thing is you’re right on the beach. It’s a big sandy beach. You step out from the deck area onto the pebbles and sand. You get good views from the balconies. We’ve seen dolphins from there, but it’s luck of the draw.
There’s a pub about 100 yards away, shops and cafes about 200. Borth itself has the basics. They’ve got a small cinema.
Aberystwyth is about five miles south. You can drive or get the train. It’s got a long promenade, the ruined castle, and a cliff railway. The Visit Aberystwyth site has the details.
For walks, the coastal path runs right past. You can walk from the house up to Aberystwyth if you want a long one. Inland, the Rheidol Valley has pony trekking. The Vale of Rheidol steam train goes from Aberystwyth up to Devil’s Bridge.
Further afield, within about 30 minutes drive, you’ve got the Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth, and Borth Zoo. New Quay and Aberaeron are nice for a visit. The Visit Wales Ceredigion page is useful for that.
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Towels and bedding are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring one dog.
