Llechwedd Mawr is a stone cottage near Talybont. It's detached and sits up in the Cambrian Mountains. The views are all hills. It's very quiet.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The renovation was done properly. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings.
The place has history. Records go back to the 1500s. It was a farm, then got cut off for a while when the dam was built. We fixed it up about ten years ago.
You'll need a car. The nearest shop and pub is about eight miles away in Talybont village. Aberystwyth is the closest proper town, about a 25 minute drive. It's a university town on the sea. Machynlleth and Aberaeron are both nice for a visit, within half an hour. The coast there is good for spotting dolphins sometimes.
Out the door, you're straight into walking and mountain biking country. The Pumlumon massif is right there. It's the source of the rivers Severn and Wye. You can drive over the Nant-y-Moch dam to get to Devil's Bridge.
For facilities, you've got pretty much what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Parking for a couple of cars. There's a BBQ outside. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
