Bryntrisant

Bryntrisant is a detached cottage near Devil's Bridge in Ceredigion. It's an old miner's cottage from the 1840s that's been done up. It's got exposed stone inside and a wood burner.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.

There's a boot room with a separate toilet when you come in, which is handy for muddy boots. The garden is enclosed and has some furniture. You get a good view of the fields and hills from there. We see red kites and buzzards quite often.

The Bwlch Nant Yr Arian visitor centre is a few miles away. They feed the red kites every day and you can see over a hundred of them. It's quite a sight. Useful link: Natural Resources Wales: Bwlch Nant yr Arian.

Devil's Bridge village is about two miles down the road. The waterfalls are famous. There's a steep set of steps down to see them properly. The Rheidol steam train goes from there to Aberystwyth.

Aberystwyth is about a 20-minute drive. It's a proper seaside town with a pier, a promenade, and the electric cliff railway up Constitution Hill. The beach at Aberystwyth is stony.

For walking, the Hafod Estate is very close. It's a big forested area with waymarked trails. There's also the Ystwyth Trail if you like cycling. We've got a shed you can lock bikes in.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, the wood burner, WiFi, TV, and parking for one car right by the cottage. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
