Aberystwyth is a good base. You can walk along the prom, up to the castle ruins, or get the cliff railway up Constitution Hill. The town has the usual shops, cafes, and a cinema. The National Library is worth a look if you're interested.
For a day out, the Vale of Rheidol Railway goes to Devil's Bridge. Bwlch Nant yr Arian is about fifteen minutes drive, good for a walk and they feed the red kites there every day at 2pm.
The facilities are what you'd expect. Washing machine, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
