Old Quay

Old Quay is in Newlyn harbour. It's a ground-floor flat right on the water. The front looks straight out over the harbour wall.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both have king size beds. There's two bathrooms, one is an ensuite. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is on the one level.

You're right in the middle of the working harbour. You'll see fishing boats coming and going. Sometimes you might see seals. It's a proper, busy place. The windows are acoustic glass to cut down the noise, but you will hear boats and seagulls. That's part of it.

You can bring one dog. There's a private parking space right outside, which is very handy here.

The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher, and a washer/dryer. There's a coffee machine. There's a 50 inch TV in the living room. The artwork on the walls is photos taken by the owner.

You don't really need a car. The bus to Penzance stops outside, and from there you can get the train. A bus to Mousehole also goes from right outside. The ferry to the Scilly Isles goes from Penzance.

Newlyn itself is a fishing town. There are good fish restaurants and a few pubs. The pub next door does food. There's a small cinema here too with a bar.

You're in a good spot for getting around. Penzance is a couple of miles away for shops. Marazion and St Michael's Mount are about ten minutes by car. The south coast around Porthleven is about fifteen minutes. The north coast, like St Ives, is within half an hour.

For planning trips, the National Trust Cornwall page is useful, and so is the Cornwall Council countryside access site for walking.
