Salty Cottage
Salty Cottage is in Newlyn. It's an old granite fisherman's cottage, right by the harbour. It sleeps three, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well kept.
The layout is open plan. It's small, but it works. There's an original inglenook fireplace. There's no garden or outside space of your own, but you're about a minute's walk from the harbour wall where you can watch the boats.
The stairs are something to note. They're the original cottage stairs. They're steep, narrow, and a bit spiral in places. We've put a stairgate at the top for little ones.
You're right in the middle of things here. The local bus stop is two minutes away. The first pub that does food is about a minute. Newlyn itself is a proper working fishing harbour. You can walk along the edge to see the boats coming in. The village has bakeries, a fishmonger, a small supermarket, a few pubs, and a couple of art galleries. The Newlyn Art Gallery has a good café.
For a bigger town, Penzance is a short drive or bus ride away. They've got a long promenade and a heated outdoor lido pool. Mousehole is just along the coast. Marazion, for St Michael's Mount, is about ten minutes by car.
If you want to explore, the whole west Cornish coast is within reach. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is about twenty minutes' drive. St Ives is maybe half an hour, depending on traffic. For a good walk, the South West Coast Path runs right past. There are several National Trust properties nearby, like Trengwainton Garden.
Inside, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We don't allow pets. The place is all electric, so the heating is straightforward.
