Tom's Cottage is in Dalton. It's a rural spot, not far from the edge of town.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It used to be a bed and breakfast, so that's why the setup is like that. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The cottage overlooks a small trout lake. You can see fields from the back. On a clear day, you can see Scafell Pike and the Old Man of Coniston in the distance.
There's a pub and a shop about a mile and a half away. The beach at Sandscale Haws is three miles. It's a National Trust site, good for a walk. National Trust Sandscale Haws.
You're well placed for the southern lakes. Coniston Water is about six miles, Windermere is about fourteen. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park is very close, just down the road.
Other things nearby: the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, the Aquarium of the Lakes at Newby Bridge, and Muncaster Castle. The Duddon Valley is a good drive for a proper day out.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburning stove for colder nights. The garden is enclosed. There's no step into the shower and there are grab rails in one of the bathrooms. Sorry, no pets.
If you're planning walks, the Lake District National Park site is useful.
