Tom's Cottage is in Dalton in Furness. It's a small town, a bit out of the way. The cottage itself used to be a B&B, so it's set up for guests. It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. They're all a decent size. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. It's got a wood burning stove, a dishwasher, and wifi. There's parking right there. The garden is enclosed. It looks out over a trout lake, and you can see the fells in the distance, like Scafell Pike.
There’s a shop and a pub about a mile and a half away. The coast is about three miles. Sandscale Haws is good for a beach walk. It's a National Trust site. Sandscale Haws.
You're well placed for the Lakes. Coniston Water and Windermere are both under half an hour's drive. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park is just up the road, if you've got kids. The Haverthwaite Steam Railway is close by too. For a good day out, the Duddon Valley is beautiful and quiet.
A couple of things to know. The stairs are open and a bit steep. It says so in the official description, but it's worth repeating. And it's a no pets property.
