Woodgate Cottage is one of ours. It's a small detached cottage just outside Newton, in the Furness part of Cumbria. It's a modern build, so it's good and warm, and everything works like it should.
It’s for two people. One bedroom with a kingsize bed, and one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s open plan downstairs, so the kitchen, living and dining area are all in one room. That’s handy if you’re cooking and chatting. The kitchen has a dishwasher.
The cottage is all on the ground floor. There’s parking right outside.
Newton is a quiet village. The local pub is about a minute’s walk away. There’s another one up the road. Barrow-in-Furness is a couple of miles away for supermarkets and shops. The coast at Rampside is about four miles.
You’re well placed here for getting about. The Lake District proper, like Windermere and Ambleside, is about a 25 minute drive up the road. Closer by, Walney Island is good for a walk. You often see seals there. South Lakes Safari Zoo is about 15 minutes away.
For local history, the Dock Museum in Barrow is worth a look. It covers the shipbuilding past.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV, and the electricity. No pets, sorry.
