Beeswax Cottage is in Dalton. It's at the end of a small terrace. It's for four people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, sleeps four. It's a 4 Star place.
The main room is open plan, kitchen at the back bit, living bit in the middle. It's got that low-ceiling, cottage feel. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, so mind your head.
You can bring one dog. The garden is fenced, so that's fine for the dog. There's a washing machine and WiFi. You'll need to pay for the heating via a meter.
There's a local shop about half a mile away. The nearest pub with food is the one in the town, maybe a mile. For a beach, you'd drive to the coast, maybe Sandscale Haws which is a National Trust spot. That's about three miles.
For a day out, the South Lakes Safari Zoo is very close, just outside town. Ulverston is about ten minutes by car. Nice market town, has the Laurel and Hardy museum if that's your thing. The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway steam train is about a twenty minute drive.
You're well placed here. Barrow is one way on the train, Grange-over-Sands the other. The southern Lakes are easy to get to. Coniston, Grizedale Forest, and the Duddon Valley are all within half an hour's drive. The National Trust has a lot of places nearby, like Fell Foot Park at the bottom of Windermere.
The main things are the enclosed garden for the dog, the location for getting about without being right in the tourist spots, and it's just a straightforward cottage.
