Briar Cottage
Briar Cottage is just outside Dalton in Furness. It's a modernised cottage on a secluded plot, surrounded by fields and trees. You'll have it to yourselves.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two shower rooms, one is a wet room on the ground floor. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main living area is all open plan.
Important bit: the cottage is good for people with limited mobility. There's step-free access from the car park to the front door and then out to the patio. The whole ground floor is level, and there's a wet room. We don't have fitted handrails, but we can provide a shower seat and a ramp if you need one. Just ask.
The patio and garden are yours to use. To be completely plain, the land behind the cottage is used for farm storage. There's some static machinery like diggers there for field work. It's all behind a 6-foot safety screen so you don't see it from the garden, and it won't be used during your stay.
Dalton itself has a few pubs, cafes, and shops. There's a big Tesco nearby for groceries. For a proper day out, the Lake District is on your doorstep. Lake Windermere is about 20 minutes by car. Ulverston is ten minutes away, it's a nice market town with good indie shops.
If you like walking, Black Combe is close and the Coniston fells aren't far. For a family trip, the South Lakes Safari Zoo is about fifteen minutes away. The steam train from Haverthwaite to Lakeside is a nice run.
Included in the place: all bedding and towels, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, on-site parking. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. No pets, sorry.
