Briar Cottage
Briar Cottage is near Dalton in Furness. It's a detached cottage on its own bit of land, surrounded by trees and fields. It feels private.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One shower room is on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's modern and comfortable. The whole place is open plan downstairs.
The owner renovated it themselves over the years. It runs on solar panels. There's step-free access from the car park to the front door and out to the patio. The ground floor shower room is a wet room. We don't have fixed handrails, but we can provide a shower seat if you need one. Just ask.
There’s a 6ft fence at the back of the garden. Behind it is some farm machinery for working the fields. It won’t be used while you're here. It’s just stored there.
Dalton itself has shops, supermarkets, and a few pubs and cafes. The castle is old, from the 1300s. Ulverston is a ten minute drive for more choice. It's also where the Manjushri Buddhist Centre is, if that's of interest.
You're about 20 minutes from Lake Windermere for boats. The Lake District National Park is on your doorstep for walks. The Old Man of Coniston is a good hike. For a family day out, the South Lakes Safari Zoo is nearby.
Facilities: washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, TV, cot and highchair available. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. No pets, sorry. You can book it together with the cottage next door if you need more space.
