Wild Duck

Wild Duck is an end-terrace cottage in Swarthmoor. It's a quiet village on the Furness peninsula.

It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, recently done up. The stairs are a normal sort of staircase, nothing too steep.

Downstairs is open plan. There's a wood burner, which is good for cooler nights. The sofa is big and comfy. The kitchen has what you need. Outside at the back there's a private patio garden. It gets the evening sun.

The village has a pub that does food, about half a mile away. The proper shops are in Ulverston, which is two miles. It's a good town. Nice pubs, a market, the odd festival. They've got the Laurel and Hardy museum there.

You're about three miles from the coast at Bardsea. It's a shingle beach. For a swim, most people go on to places like Roanhead or Silecroft.

For walks, the Cumbria Way starts in Ulverston. Birkrigg Common is nearby and the views over Morecambe Bay are worth it. The Lake District is on your doorstep. Coniston and Windermere are about a half hour drive. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park is also close, maybe twenty minutes.

Facilities: parking for one car right outside. The garden is enclosed. There's wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones.
