Jackdaw Cottage

You're twenty yards from the village pub, which does food. The shop is a couple of miles away in Ulverston, so you'll want to bring supplies. Ulverston has a market twice a week.
You can walk to the coast from here. The Cumbrian Way passes nearby if you like long walks. For a different sort of visit, the Manjushri Buddhist Temple is in the area with gardens you can look around.
Coniston Water is about a twenty-minute drive. You can go on the lake or walk up the Old Man. The beaches along the Furness coast are also within half an hour.
