Jackdaw Cottage is a semi-detached place in Baycliff village. It fronts onto the lane and you get the garden behind it to yourselves. It sleeps three, across two bedrooms.
It's got a four star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. The rooms are decent sized.
The stairs are worth mentioning. They're wooden spiral stairs. They're open and a bit steep. You get used to them, but mind your head.
The bathroom has a shower. There's a woodburning stove in the living room. It's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
There's a pub and a restaurant about twenty yards away. The nearest shop is two miles up the road in Ulverston. They have a market there on Thursdays and Saturdays.
You're a couple of miles from the Furness coast. Walks start from the door. The Cumbrian Way is close by. For bigger days out, Coniston Water is about a fifteen minute drive. You can hire boats or go on the steamer there. The Buddhist temple at Manjushri is nearby and their grounds are nice for a wander.
If you want to drive further, you can get to the southern part of the Lake District National Park in about half an hour.
Parking is on site. No pets, sorry. There's a highchair if you need one.
