Cockleshell Cottage

Cockleshell Cottage is in Haverigg. It's a terraced cottage, right by the harbour. You get the harbour on one side and the beach on the other. The sand goes on for miles.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not a show home. The main bedroom is at the front with the harbour view. The second bedroom has twin beds.

The living room is open plan. There's a small patio garden out the back. You can park one car right outside.

The pub is about a hundred yards away. They do food. The shop is a bit further, about a mile and a half in the village.

You can walk out the door and straight onto the Cumbrian Coastal Path. The Hodbarrow RSPB reserve is just there. You can see it from the front window. For a trip out, Muncaster Castle is about twenty minutes' drive. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is there too. You can get the steam train into the hills.

Whitehaven and Millom are a short drive for bigger shops. The proper Lake District mountains are about half an hour inland if you want them.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. It's pet friendly, up to two dogs. The cottage is decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.

Useful links: Lake District National Park for walking, RSPB Hodbarrow for the local reserve, and Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway for the steam train.
