Tranquillity

Tranquillity is a detached bungalow in Haverigg. It's on the west coast, south of the Lake District proper. The main thing is the view from the decking. You look straight out over the Duddon estuary. It's a proper estuary view, with the water and the sand and the hills in the distance.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean and well-kept, not luxurious. Everything you need is there. The layout is open plan inside.

There's a local pub about 175 yards away. It does food and local ales. The shop is about half a mile. The beach is a quarter of a mile down the lane.

The location is good for a mix. You're on the coast here, so you've got the beach and coastal walks. But you're also about a 30 to 60 minute drive from the big lakes if that's what you want. Coniston, Windermere, Wastwater are all within an hour.

Locally, the Ravenglass & Eskdale miniature railway is about 30 minutes south. It's a narrow gauge line that runs up into the hills. St Bees Head is a bit further down that coast, good for a walk.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's an enclosed garden and patio with a BBQ. On-site parking. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
